Our Daily Bread

ODB Servers

Our Daily Bread (ODB) in Sunnyvale serves free hot meals three days a week to hungry people without qualification or restriction. Participation in the program is the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Serving hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

There are a wide variety of volunteer positions including:

  • Cooks who prepare hot meals on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday for 3–5 hours beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Kitchen helpers who make salads and prepare desserts on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday for 3–4 hours beginning at 8:30 a.m.
  • Pantry and refrigerator coordinators who sort and rotate food on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 2–4 hours beginning at 8:30 a.m.
  • Dining room servers and set-up staff working Monday, Wednesday, or Friday for 2–4 hours beginning at 9 a.m.
  • Dishwashers and clean-up staff working Monday, Wednesday, or Friday for 3–4 hours beginning at 10 a.m.
  • Drivers who work on a daily basis for 2–4 hours picking up donated groceries, produce and breads from local markets and cafes.

Our Daily Bread dining hall is located at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sunnyvale at the corner of Sunset and McKinley across from Washington Park. The address is 231 Sunset Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086.
