Hunger

Hungry Hands“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...”—Matthew 25:35

Alleviating hunger is one of the focus areas of our Mission & Service ministry. We have many ways that you can answer Jesus’ command to “feed my sheep.”

Bread For The World Sunday, October 21

Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decisions makers to end hunger at home and abroad. Moved by God’s grace in Jesus Christ, we advocate for a world without hunger. On October 21, letters to Congress from members and friends of Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church will be blessed along with the offering received that day.

2018 Offering of Letters: For Such a Time as This

Funding for vital domestic and international anti-hunger and anti-poverty programs is again at risk of deep cuts. Through hand-written letters, we will urge Congress to invest and protect key programs that help improve the lives of men, women, and children facing hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world.

Tables with writing materials including paper, pens, envelopes, stamps, and addresses of members of Congress and a sample letter will be available on these dates.
