Sermon: Leaving God's Mark
Joshua 4:20-24, Ephesians 1:3-14
Rev. Matt Gough
Everybody wants to be remembered and the pressure to leave one’s mark, can drive us to extremes. We are quick to mark special times: graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, victories, promotions and awards. Yet it can be harder to remember and celebrate our own baptisms, to begin the day by giving it to God, and to mark times of spiritual growth and passages. In a world where our cultural landmarks can be shallow and misleading, God calls us to be guided by the new identity we are given in Jesus Christ.
