Sermon: Healing Words
Ephesians 4:15, 25-32

Words. From one perspective words that are spoken exist only as long as their sound is heard. And yet in reality, we know that the power of words can last a lifetime. Words of love, praise, and encouragement can create a positive reality where, in fact, there was before only hesitant hope. Conversely, words of criticism, shame, and judgment wither the spirit and shrink the soul. We might ask ourselves -- in our lives and in our relationships -- "are we speaking life or death?" As we gather for worship God speaks over us words like beloved, precious, forgiven, cherished, and accepted.
