"Discovering God... in the Distant Place"
Luke 15:11-32

How long has it been since you've been home? The question usually presumes that one is not there now, that home is where we grew up which might be miles -- maybe states (countries!) -- away. But the question also can ask how long it has been since we have experienced a sense of belonging deep in our souls. Home is not just a house in which we live but, even more, is a place where love and grace are freely experienced. Home is a place of reckless hospitality. When we turn to God we turn for home.
