Greetings!
All-Church Camp will soon be here! We are thrilled to introduce Rev. Peter Whitelock as our speaker. Peter is the Head Pastor at Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church.
Peter has chosen the theme, Living Above Lifes Circumstance
Paul is in jail. His circumstances are bleak. Despite this, his letter to the Philippians is filled with joy, delight, and exhortation to rejoice always in all things. Paul may be in prison, but he is not imprisoned by his circumstances he has found something to base his life on that transcends his circumstances. In life, we often face difficult times the loss of a job, broken relationships, seemingly impossible choices, the death of a beloved, pain not our making, life threatening diseases or circumstances. These circumstances, however, need not imprison us. In Christ we can live in freedom and hope which God has bestowed upon us in our baptism. I hope this series of talks will help all of us live more fully into that freedom and hope no matter our circumstances.
As usual, All Church Camp will also feature activities for all ages and interests. Children will find lots of fun surprises during their morning program. Our music team will lead us in worshiping God in song. The weekend will also feature many sporting activities, from hiking, cycling, swimming, to archery, and softball. You can also enjoy a campfire, crafts, reading, napping and an ice cream social, among other activities. Dont forget to strut your stuff at the All-Camp Talent Show on Sunday night!
If you are a FIRST-TIME CAMPER AT ALL-CHURCH CAMP, be sure to attend the New Campers Breakfast provided for you free of charge on Saturday morning at the picnic tables. More information just for the first time camper is included in their packets.
The complete Pre-Camp All Church Camp Packet includes;
* General Camp Information
* List of Suggested Items to Bring
*
No meals are available for Friday dinner or Monday lunch through Redwood Glen, even for those who have purchased meals; please provide these meals on your own.
Check-In at Redwood Glen starts Friday, September 2 at 3:00 PM. New campers are highly encouraged to come as early as possible to set up camp before dark. We will be in front of Shepherd Lodge (located near the camp entrance) handing out packets and helping you find your site from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. If you plan to arrive after 6:00 PM on Friday, you may pick up your packet from the box of packets in front of Shepherd Lodge when you arrive. If you do arrive late, please observe the 11:00 PM All-Quiet rule for All-Church Camp.
You will receive your Check-In Packet when you arrive at All Church Camp. It will contain name tags, meal tickets, the camp schedule, and a camp map.
Please help us and Redwood Glen by bringing reusable containers instead of using disposables (i.e. bring a mug for the morning hot drinks instead of using the disposable cups), as well as using environmentally friendly materials and recycling whenever possible. Many thanks!
We are always the largest group each year at Redwood Glen, and tend to put a strain on the camps septic system. You can help by making showers as short as possible (3 minutes maximum), by using the Port-A-Potties instead of flush toilets, and when possible by sharing flushes of flush toilets, especially during peak usage times (you all know that rhyme, right?). These small but important steps will ensure that we are good stewards of our time at Redwood Glen. Many thanks!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us. We look forward to seeing all of you at Camp!
