Dear Campers,
Your All Church Camp Medical Response Team stands ready to be of aid during All Church Camp 2011 this coming Labor Day Weekend. We, of course, wish you a very happy and healthful time at camp and want you to know that if you need medical help we have a team of doctors, nurses, dentists, and emergency medical techs who can be of aid.
Each year after All Church Camp, the medical team reviews the previous year’s experience from a medical and emergency perspective. We are continually refining, and we believe improving, our efforts as a result of this review process. What follows is the basic plan for medical problems both emergency and non-emergency for All Church Camp 2011:
There will be a FIRST AID ROOM AT THE PARKING LOT ENTRANCE TO SHEPHERD LODGE. The First Aid Room will be marked by a large red cross on the door, and will provide a full supply of emergency and non-emergency first aid equipment and supplies.
For NON-EMERGENCY INJURIES AND MEDICAL PROBLEMS (superficial cuts, abrasions, nausea, headaches, etc), you are welcome to go to the First Aid Room where you will be able to find and use appropriate first aid supplies that will be laid out on a table and labeled. Please use what you need, and clean up after yourself when you are done. PLEASE NOTE: As always, families and individuals coming to All Church Camp are encouraged to bring their own first aid supplies, as that spares the church supplies. That said, please know that you are welcome to use the supplies in the First Aid Room as a backup for whatever you may not have on hand.
For EMERGENCY INJURIES OR MEDICAL PROBLEMS, GO IMMEDIATELY TO THE FIRST AID ROOM, and contact the medical person who is on call via the walkie-talkie on the table. The medical person on call will come immediately to the First Aid Room to meet you and assist you or the injured or ill person. If the emergency is such that the injured or ill person cannot be moved, send someone to the First Aid Room to contact the medical person on call to tell them where to go.
We, the medical team, are here to help. We encourage campers to make use of us for medical emergencies. If you are not sure if the problem is a medical emergency, please err on the side of asking for help: come to the First Aid Room and call us!
Best wishes for a most enjoyable and healthy experience at SVPC All Church Camp!!!
