Step by Step Instructions to be Safe Church Approved
The following requirements do not have to be completed in any specific order, nor do all steps need to be completed before you begin working with Children and/or Youth. Our goal is for the entire process to be completed within 90 days after active volunteer service begins.
- Attend a general Safe Church Training. Scheduled dates and times are listed on the Safe Church Training web page.
- Get fingerprinted for DOJ clearance. This is required again even if you have already completed the process for another organization. Instructions on how and where to do this are in the Department of Justice fingerprinting directions and Department of Justice forms below.
- Print and fill out the Volunteer Information Form below.
- Hand in a completed application and proof of fingerprinting to the front desk in the main Church Office.
- Attend a specific Safe Church Training through the ministry area you are working with. (This could be a LOGOS parent meeting, BLAST shepherd/ teacher training, PNO meeting, youth advisor meeting, etc.)
You will be notified by the Safe Church Committee when all of the above steps have been completed, references have been checked and DOJ clearance has been received.
- Advisors who drive students on church sponsored events are asked to provide license and insurance information and to be screened through the DMV using the Driver's Information and Department of Vehicles forms below.
