Community Thanksgiving Dinner

Look deeply into the face of every human being on earth, and you will see His likeness. Though some may appear to be distant relatives, they are not. God has no cousins, only children.”

Making GravyA thank you from one of this year's Thanksgiving dinner guests that captures what the day was all about.

The Thanksgiving Day celebration at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church was REALLY nice. I didn't know what to expect never having been there before. From when I arrived to help with preparation, through the whole dinner time, everything seemed to be well organized into teams and with jobs for anyone (of all ages and various abilities) who was willing to help. This is not something to be taken for granted.

DecoratingAnd then I had also invited the family from El Salvador to come and they had a good time and enjoyed many of our traditional foods for the first time. People went out of the way to make us all feel welcome and even came by the table to talk to us (including one man that was fluent in Spanish!). The setting for dinner was beautiful. It was quite magical to wait outside the windows and view the room and smell the food, with anticipation of joining in. I felt like I had a family Thanksgiving experience. Grilled Vegetables

Thanks to you and the many others that made this event so special.
