Val has has been a member of the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church community for many years. The internship is part of her journey through Fuller Seminary and is designed to provide her with a deep experience of ministry as she focuses on Recreational Ministry as well as a breadth of exposure to several aspects of Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church's other ministry areas.

SUMMER SHORELINE WALK SERIES
This summer as the weather gets hot inland we will be heading out to the shoreline. Hope you can join us! Everyone is welcome. We'll take the church van and additionally carpool as necessary.

| Saturday, July 24 | Santa Cruz – Join us for an afternoon of breathtaking beauty! We'll hike 3 to 4 miles along the top of the bluffs looking down on the ocean, beautiful coves, sea caves, brussel sprouts(?), birds, and the possibility of seals in the coves. | At the church at 12:30 pm; return by 6 p.m. | Drinks. |

GREAT DAY OF KAYAKING - SATURDAY, JUNE 26 - RSVP required
We will be heading down to the Elkhorn Slough for a wonderful day of paddling and observing the wildlife of the wetlands. Often seen in the area are sea otters, sea lions, and more birds than anyone can count. We'll rent kayaks from Monterey Bay Kayaks at Elkhorn Slough.
For this event you must RSVP to Val Weirauch by June 22 to ensure kayak rentals.
Where: Elkhorn Slough
When: Meet in the church parking lot at 8 a.m. (we'll take the church van and additionally carpool as necessary); we should be back at the church about 4 p.m.
Who: You and other cool folks like YOU!!! No prior experience required although you must be 12 years or older to kayak in your own boat, and at least 5 years old to paddle with your parents.
Costs: $30 for kayak rental plus a few dollars for gas.
What to bring: lunch, water/drinks, sunscreen, hat (to keep off the sun), light-weight long sleeve shirt, shoes that can get wet.
